How to prep for your boudoir photo session so you look amazing!
First off, everyone is nervous before their boudoir photography session! Your boudoir photoshoot is a very intimate experience and with that comes nerves. This is completely normal! After a few minutes into the session, we tend to get into the groove and those nerves melt away. I feel confident telling you that because that is the feedback I hear from my clients.
I take care of everything from hair and makeup, helping you decide what to wear to create flattering photos and posing you so meticulously that I’ll even tell you how to breathe. Since we do all the hard work, you just get to enjoy your shoot. These sessions are typically lighthearted and full of laughter!
Here are a few tips to help you prepare…
-Increase your water intake! Try to drink extra water all the way leading up to your shoot. Not only is it good for your body, but your skin will also look great!
-Stay out of the sun! Sunburns and tan lines usually don’t look great in photos.
-Do not get a spray tan!!! You will look orange when photographed.
-If you wax, do so about 3 to 4 days prior to avoid any bumps or redness.
-Try on your outfits and lingerie to make sure they fit properly. Remove all tags and labels. Tags can sometimes be removed in photoshop, but it makes for so much extra work on my end!
-Show up for hair and makeup with clean hair and skin. Jess and her team will take care of the rest.
-Get a good nights sleep. You don’t want to look back years later and say “wow, I looked tired in this photo.”
-Cut back on alcohol consumption the week beforehand. This will help your skin look its best and I promise you don’t want to be hungover during your shoot.
-The day of your boudoir photography shoot, wear loose-fitting clothing that won’t leave imprints on your body.
Remember, this day is all about celebrating how amazingly beautiful you are, inside and out! I’ve taken care of all the details. You just have to show up in a positive mood with your selected outfits, and we do the rest.
